OR Draft Diary

Thought I'd do a round by round "retro" diary of OR draft.  Why not?

Round 1
1 New York Schottsies LeBron James | F | Cleveland
2 Baltimore Brocheese Dwyane Wade | G | Miami
3 Trinidad National All-Stars Dwight Howard | C | Orlando
4 Fort Myers Cyclones Chris Paul | G | New Orleans
5 Cupey Chatas Kobe Bryant | G | Los Angeles
6 Provo Jomegamen Tim Duncan | C | San Antonio
7 Trinidad National All-Stars Kevin Durant | F | Oklahoma City
8 Grandview Buckeyes Carmelo Anthony | F | Denver
9 San Juan Supersonics Al Jefferson | C | Minnesota
10 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers Amare Stoudemire | F | Phoenix
11 Brooklyn Brewers Dirk Nowitzki | F | Dallas
12 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys Chris Bosh | F | Toronto
13 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers Brandon Roy | G | Portland
14 Oaksterdam Straightedges Tony Parker | G | San Antonio
15 Wick Eagles Kevin Garnett | F | Boston
16 New York Schottsies K Shaquille O'Neal | C | Cleveland

Though the draft was scheduled to start at noon on Saturday, the draft room actually opened late evening on Friday.   After harrasing a drunken schottsie he finally logged in and took the only player you can draft with the first pick.  I promptly took Wade and draft was off, though at the grueling pace you would expect for a draft (not) progressing before dawn on a saturday.

At 2 AM Schottsie treats us all to following gem via our e-mail thread:

"Yeah between lebron shaq....fo real o fo fantasy but b4 punk jr smith and punk beeesley effed it up we used to rock th crip blood style"  (i say sic sir, sic to the whole damn thing)

Somewhere between 10 and 11 am - the details are murky - Doug shakes the Kentucky Fried establishment by acquiring the 7th overall pick from Frenchlick.   He celebrates with his an IPA.

At around 12:30, Doug again shakes the Kentucky Fried establishment by ignoring the sacrosanct KFBA rankings and selecting Kevin Durant.   He celebrates with his fourth IPA.  Says Doug "There's 1.100 upside here that no other player left on the board has."  Tough to argue that call... I mean is there any way this guy doesn't score 30 points per game this year?  We'll see.  Regardless with his bible thumping center and OKC star, the Trinidad All-Stars immediately ursurp Ciwasko's Oscar Robertson as the pre-season fave.

By the 10th pick, Melo and Al Jefferson are also off the board, much to Ciwasko's dismay.   He needs a guard, but pooh-poohs Tony Parker and Brandon Roy's career years.  "Too many options in San Antonio. Andre Miller will have the ball in his hands."  Dirk is clearly the top player left on the board, but ciwasko turns out to be a diggler hater (or an Amar'e new apostrophe lover?) and goes with the goggled Sun instead.  Only 10 picks in, its already clear "Upside" is going to be the theme of this draft.

The Brewers happily scoop up Dirk and the Colonel takes longer than he should to draft Bosh, the last top tier player left on the board.  Oscar Robertson settles on Brandon Roy as his lead guard, making the choice pick of the second tier.  Everyone else is left to fight over scraps.

Schottsie pours a shot of Patron Silver to celebrate his rare 1st round keeper.

Round 2
1 Northampton Nittany Nerds Pau Gasol | F | Los Angeles
2 Wick Eagles Emmanuel Ginobili | G | San Antonio
3 Oaksterdam Straightedges Zach Randolph | F | Memphis
4 ZZ's Masters of War Gilbert Arenas | G | Washington
5 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys Steve Nash | G | Phoenix
6 Brooklyn Brewers Vince Carter | G | Orlando
7 FrenchLick Fingerbangers Baron Davis | G | Los Angeles
8 San Juan Supersonics Elton Brand | F | Philadelphia
9 Northampton Nittany Nerds Marcus Camby | C | Los Angeles
10 FrenchLick Fingerbangers Blake Griffin | F | Los Angeles
11 Provo Jomegamen K Josh Smith | F | Atlanta
12 Cupey Chatas Greg Oden | C | Portland
13 Fort Myers Cyclones Antawn Jamison | F | Washington
14 ZZ's Masters of War K Charlie Villanueva | F | Detroit
15 Wick Eagles K Deron Williams | G | Utah
16 Baltimore Brocheese K Carlos Boozer | F | Utah

The first few picks of the 2nd round prove more difficult.

Oaskterdam's GM struggles mightily to choose his poison and eventually settles on Randolph.

ZZRay eventually decides on Gilbert over homeboy Vince Carter.

Frenchlick sends San Juan into a tailspin by drafting Baron Davis one pick ahead of where they had planned to pick up the bouncy guard.   I've been hyping him for 30 minutes now, so its kind of my fault.

San Juan ends up going with Elton Brand which leads into a prolonged discussion of whether Brand or Baron is a riskier pick (even though its very clearly Brand).   Doug is shocked to discover Brand has only posted a 1.000 once in his career (or just as many times as Baron Davis) and we settle on a $5 bet one which will post a better average this season.  This is the easiest $5 i will make all season.

Frenchlick doubles down on a Clipper season, and drafts super rook Blake Griffin.   This is apparently the player San Juan was originally eyeing with the 3.1.   So roeder has now coopted the Goatsuckers entire Clipper strategy.   Maybe they'll fight a cage match to the death over Chris Kaman a few rounds from now.  Seems like anything is possible at the moment.

Round 3
1 San Juan Supersonics JR Smith | G | Denver
2 Cupey Chatas Joe Johnson | G | Atlanta
3 FrenchLick Fingerbangers Paul Pierce | F | Boston
4 Provo Jomegamen Michael Beasley | F | Miami
5 Fort Myers Cyclones Derrick Rose | G | Chicago
6 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers Corey Maggette | G | Golden State
7 ZZ's Masters of War Caron Butler | F | Washington
8 Northampton Nittany Nerds Chauncey Billups | G | Denver
9 Baltimore Brocheese Emeka Okafor | C | New Orleans
10 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys Brad Miller | C | Chicago
11 Grandview Buckeyes K David West | F | New Orleans
12 Oaksterdam Straightedges LaMarcus Aldridge | F | Portland
13 Brooklyn Brewers Al Harrington | F | New York
14 Grandview Buckeyes K Stephen Jackson | G | Golden State
15 Fort Myers Cyclones K Andrew Bynum | C | Los Angeles
16 Wick Eagles K Leandrinho Barbosa | G | Phoenix

Still smarting from a rare double Clipper vasectomy, a stung and disoriented Antonio takes uber punk JR Smith with the 1st pick of the 3rd round.   Gotta say I like the Baron-Griffin combo better than Brand-JR, but Al Jefferson easily tips the scales in favor of the Goatsuckers.

Provo finally puts an end to Beasley's weed induced fall from grace, quickly proclaiming that with a little JCPeery TLC and few dozen cupcakes the young forward will be ready for a strong sophomore showing.

Fort Myers shocks the room by taking Derrick Rose with the 5th pick of the 3rd round.    This is 31 picks ahead of where he was selected in the "Mock" draft  and almost a full round ahead of where I projected Trinidad was going to take him (with the 4.2).

Doug talks me into taking Okafor with the 9th pick and though i debated selecting Aldridge at length, i find myself happy with this pick a week later.   Three extra ppg can add almost 100 points to player's average and I have a feeling Chris Paul is going to do good things for his starting Centers throughout his career.  Let's see how many easy lay-ups Tyson Chandler gets in Charlotte.

Round 4
1 Wick Eagles Andrew Bogut | C | Milwaukee
2 Trinidad National All-Stars Ben Gordon | G | Detroit
3 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers Al Horford | C | Atlanta
4 ZZ's Masters of War Mehmet Okur | C | Utah
5 Oaksterdam Straightedges TJ Ford | G | Indiana
6 San Juan Supersonics Michael Redd | G | Milwaukee
7 Baltimore Brocheese Rudy Gay | F | Memphis
8 Grandview Buckeyes Jermaine O'Neal | C | Miami
9 FrenchLick Fingerbangers K Monta Ellis | G | Golden State
10 FrenchLick Fingerbangers K Andris Biedrins | C | Golden State
11 Northampton Nittany Nerds K David Lee | F | New York
12 Cupey Chatas Nene Hilario | C | Denver
13 Provo Jomegamen Andre Miller | G | Portland
14 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys K Devin Harris | G | New Jersey
15 Brooklyn Brewers K Brook Lopez | C | New Jersey
16 Trinidad National All-Stars K Kevin Love | F | Minnesota

Continuing the obsession with upside Ciwasko jumps the gun on Al Horford, selecting him with 2nd pick of the 4th round.   This was after i refused to trade him Okafor for which i was promply labeled a whore.  My pre-draft strategy had been to select Al Horford with the very 1st pick of the 5th round had he been available, which seemed like a reasonable expectation.  I'm not clear whether ciwasko knew i was on picking up a 2nd center and took Horford to punish the Brocheese or whether he still has his sights set on Okafor and figures that Horford will prove a handy trade chip later in the season.  You know, given my man crush on the big Hawk and former Gator.

Centers go off the board like crazy and Bogut, Okur, JO and Nene all get taken.    Brook Lopez, Brooklyn's fabulous keeper, remains my favorite center of the round.

Doug again convinces me on a selection, this time Rudy Gay.  In my increasing state of intoxication i can't tell if he's manupulating me into a shitty team, and the Colonel clearly thinks he has ulterior motives.  He is doug.  Thats what doug does.   Thing is that Rudy Gay was only marginally on my radar coming into the draft.  Don't get me wrong, I love gay. He's got great potential and might be a great NBA player some day.  Its just that Memphis, this year, is going to be an absolute Circus.  With a capital C.  Zach Randolph, Allen Iverson, a midling team no one comes to watch?  Are you kidding me?  That scene never works out.  Players don't play through pain, sitting out with any minor bump or bruise. They get distracted, they go to southbeach, they get stoned.  They start thinking about next season or get mired in coaching and trade controversies.   Last year i stayed away from all Clips in all leagues for this very reason and it served me well.  The year before that i stayed away from all Knicks in all leagues.  And it served me well.  But not this year.  This year i took the plunge into what are sure to be six months worth of gut wrenching Memphis-is-a-joke articles and Allen Iverson tweets.   And I am ok with that.  I think.

Round 5
1 Baltimore Brocheese Yao Ming | C | Houston
2 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys Andre Iguodala | F | Philadelphia
3 Northampton Nittany Nerds Allen Iverson | G | Detroit
4 Grandview Buckeyes Tracy McGrady | G | Houston
5 Northampton Nittany Nerds Zydrunas Ilgauskas | C | Cleveland
6 Oaksterdam Straightedges Lamar Odom | F | Los Angeles
7 Brooklyn Brewers Tyrus Thomas | F | Chicago
8 Grandview Buckeyes Jason Richardson | G | Phoenix
9 Cupey Chatas Tyreke Evans | G | Sacramento
10 ZZ's Masters of War Stephen Curry | G | Golden State
11 FrenchLick Fingerbangers K Jameer Nelson | G | Orlando
12 Provo Jomegamen Josh Howard | F | Dallas
13 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers K Danny Granger | F | Indiana
14 San Juan Supersonics Gerald Wallace | F | Charlotte
15 Trinidad National All-Stars K Russell Westbrook | G | Oklahoma City
16 ZZ's Masters of War Brandan Wright | F | Golden State

And then I took Yao.

Had to be done.

Or so Doug convinced me.  Puff, puff, pass and all that.

As of now I'm expecting Yao (3) to be worth some major keeper currency come january and as along as i can secure me some top shelf talent I'll be thrilled.  But i'm going to be nervous until then.

The Colonel picks up Iggy, whom i had stared at longingly twice in the previous five picks.   Personally I think this was a great pick-up at the 5.2.

Then everyone goes crazy.

T-Mac and Allen Iverson come off the board.  I am mildly surprised as these guys weren't all that good last year and T-Mac is probably out for the year, but guards are riduculously scarce at this juncture and teams are in need.  I'm sure they would have rather gambled on Tyrus Thomas, Gerald Wallace or Josh Howard.  Right?

The guard situtation is so barren that Stephen Curry and Tereke Evans also come off the board.  This is the 5th round people!  Too much crack in the room.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Big Z puts up another quite .867 this year and ends up being the best pick of the round hands down.

Round 6
1 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers OJ Mayo | G | Memphis
2 New York Schottsies Eric Gordon | G | Los Angeles
3 Baltimore Brocheese Luol Deng | F | Chicago
4 Grandview Buckeyes Ron Artest | F | Los Angeles
5 Provo Jomegamen Richard Hamilton | G | Detroit
6 FrenchLick Fingerbangers K Troy Murphy | F | Indiana
7 San Juan Supersonics Jason Kidd | G | Dallas
8 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys Chris Kaman | C | Los Angeles
9 Cupey Chatas K Andrei Kirilenko | F | Utah
10 Brooklyn Brewers Joakim Noah | C | Chicago
11 Oaksterdam Straightedges Andray Blatche | F | Washington
12 Wick Eagles K Mo Williams | G | Cleveland
13 Fort Myers Cyclones Rashard Lewis | F | Orlando
14 Trinidad National All-Stars K Rajon Rondo | G | Boston
15 ZZ's Masters of War K Lou Williams | G | Philadelphia
16 New York Schottsies K Drew Gooden | F | Dallas

Ciwasko gives up Jeff Green (8) for the 1st pick of the 6th round and proceeds to take OJ Mayo.  In case you started reading this blog mid way, we're drafting for upside.   Still Oscar Robertson is looking good with Amare, Granger, and Anthony Randolph at forward and Brandoy Roy, Correy Maggette and OJ Mayo at guard.  A nice mix of front line talent and talent with front line potential.

The Schottsie's, anticipating they will draft seven rookies in what is left of this draft, decide to add the veteran presence of Eric Gordon with what amounts to their first pick since the 1st round.

Round 7
1 Northampton Nittany Nerds Richard Jefferson | F | San Antonio
2 Fort Myers Cyclones Shawn Marion | F | Dallas
3 San Juan Supersonics James Harden | G | Oklahoma City
4 Oaksterdam Straightedges Randy Foye | G | Washington
5 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys Jonny Flynn | G | Minnesota
6 Provo Jomegamen Jamal Crawford | G | Atlanta
7 Brooklyn Brewers John Salmons | G | Chicago
8 Cupey Chatas Hakim Warrick | F | Milwaukee
9 Fort Myers Cyclones Mike Bibby | G | Atlanta
10 FrenchLick Fingerbangers Thaddeus Young | F | Philadelphia
11 New York Schottsies Ty Lawson | G | Denver
12 New York Schottsies Brandon Jennings | G | Milwaukee
13 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys K Raymond Felton | G | Charlotte
14 Wick Eagles K Nate Robinson | G | New York
15 Wick Eagles K Spencer Hawes | C | Sacramento
16 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers K Roy Hibbert | C | Indiana

Talent is looking up in the 7th round.

Younggod somehow gets Shawn Marrion with the 7.2 even though he's clearly 6th round worthy.

San Juan takes Harden and the Colonel picks up Johnny Flynn, who i was confident would be around for the 8.1.  The lesson: Rookies always go early.  They are sexy.

For my money, Oaksterdam's Randy Foye will end up a better selection that both though.

Schottsie starts his historic run on rookies.

Round 8
1 Baltimore Brocheese Danilo Gallinari | F | New York
2 Fort Myers Cyclones Andres Nocioni | F | Sacramento
3 Baltimore Brocheese Samuel Dalembert | C | Philadelphia
4 Cupey Chatas Leon Powe | F | Cleveland
5 New York Schottsies Al Thornton | F | Los Angeles
6 Grandview Buckeyes Rasheed Wallace | F | Boston
7 FrenchLick Fingerbangers DeAndre Jordan | C | Los Angeles
8 Wick Eagles K Mike Dunleavy | F | Indiana
9 Northampton Nittany Nerds Ronnie Brewer | G | Utah
10 Trinidad National All-Stars K Andrea Bargnani | C | Toronto
11 Provo Jomegamen K Hidayet Turkoglu | F | Toronto
12 Brooklyn Brewers K Jason Terry | G | Dallas
13 Oaksterdam Straightedges Ray Allen | G | Boston
14 Baltimore Brocheese K Aaron Brooks | G | Houston
15 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers K Anthony Randolph | F | Golden State
16 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers K Jeff Green | F | Oklahoma City

With the rookie pool dwindling fast I look to sophomore Danilo Gallinary for my major upside potential.

Two picks later i'm widely mocked for taking Sammy Dalembert, but I don't have a back-up center, centers are about to get scarce and he had a down year and has mid .700s potential.   What's Ray Allens potential?   Or Al Thorton's?

Round 9
1 Northampton Nittany Nerds Hasheem Thabeet | C | Memphis
2 Grandview Buckeyes Kenyon Martin | F | Denver
3 FrenchLick Fingerbangers Mike Conley | G | Memphis
4 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys Tyler Hansbrough | F | Indiana
5 Northampton Nittany Nerds Carl Landry | F | Houston
6 ZZ's Masters of War DeJuan Blair | F | San Antonio
7 Oaksterdam Straightedges Zaur Pachulia | C | Atlanta
8 Fort Myers Cyclones Kirk Hinrich | G | Chicago
9 ZZ's Masters of War K Craig Smith | F | Los Angeles
10 San Juan Supersonics Sean May | F | Sacramento
11 New York Schottsies Earl Clark | F | Phoenix
12 Fort Myers Cyclones K DJ Augustin | G | Charlotte
13 Brooklyn Brewers Marvin Williams | F | Atlanta
14 Baltimore Brocheese K Kevin Martin | G | Sacramento
15 Cupey Chatas K Paul Millsap | F | Utah
16 Trinidad National All-Stars K Jose Calderon | G | Toronto

Ladies and gentlemen Hasheem Thabeet!   I have a feeling he's going to follow in the harrowed footsteps of all those other number two picks with midling KF careers... Marvin Williams, Tyson Chandler, Darko Milicic...  and note that he went before all of those players!   This season will be the last time that happens.

For Myers adds a solid back up guard in Kirk Hinrich,  a very nice pick-up this late.

ZZray drafts DeJuan Blair's ACL-Less knees.  For what its worth i think he ends up posting the highest kf average out of this round.  And it might not even be close.

Round 10
1 Brooklyn Brewers Mario Chalmers | G | Miami
2 ZZ's Masters of War Rodrigue Beaubois | G | Dallas
3 FrenchLick Fingerbangers Nick Young | G | Washington
4 New York Schottsies Kyle Lowry | G | Houston
5 Provo Jomegamen K Francisco Garcia | G | Sacramento
6 Brooklyn Brewers Jeff Teague | G | Atlanta
7 San Juan Supersonics K Luis Scola | F | Houston
8 Cupey Chatas Flip Murray | G | Atlanta
9 Provo Jomegamen K Boris Diaw | F | Charlotte
10 Oaksterdam Straightedges K Kendrick Perkins | C | Boston
11 ZZ's Masters of War K Ramon Sessions | G | Milwaukee
12 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys K Jason Thompson | F | Sacramento
13 San Juan Supersonics K Marc Gasol | C | Memphis
14 Trinidad National All-Stars K Marreese Speights | F | Philadelphia
15 Grandview Buckeyes Marquis Daniels | G | Boston
16 ZZ's Masters of War K Antonio McDyess | F | San Antonio

Brooklyn, ZZ's, Frenchlick and New York clean out the young guards with upside leaving Cupey and Grandview to draft retreads Flip Murray and Marquis Daniels.  Ouch.   Nothing says "I'm so trashed i've lost touch with reality" quite like drafting undersized journey men shooting guards that have never posted a .700 in their career and never will.

Round 11
1 Wick Eagles Darko Milicic | C | New York
2 Baltimore Brocheese Mike Miller | F | Washington
3 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers Jordan Hill | F | New York
4 Grandview Buckeyes Rafer Alston | G | New Jersey
5 Oaksterdam Straightedges Chris Wilcox | F | Detroit
6 Baltimore Brocheese Jordan Farmar | G | Los Angeles
7 San Juan Supersonics Ian Mahinmi | C | San Antonio
8 Provo Jomegamen K Rodney Stuckey | G | Detroit
9 Cupey Chatas Gerald Henderson | G | Charlotte
10 Baltimore Brocheese Eddy Curry | C | New York
11 Baltimore Brocheese K Rudy Fernandez | G | Portland
12 Trinidad National All-Stars K Wilson Chandler | F | New York
13 Northampton Nittany Nerds K Kelenna Azubuike | G | Golden State
14 Northampton Nittany Nerds Yi Jianlian | F | New Jersey
15 Brooklyn Brewers K Rashad McCants | G | Sacramento
16 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys K Brandon Bass | F | Orlando

Its getting late.  We're trashed.  Mrobison declares it to be Darko Time!

Shots all around.

My strategy going into this draft was "Mine D'Antoni gold".   This is the coach that turned David Lee and Nate Robinson into KF stars last season after all.   Unheralded Knicks that could benefit from the DAntoni touch include Gallinari, Eddy Curry and Jordan Hill.

I even think Darko has himself a nice bit of D'Antoni upside this year.

I was hoping Hill (or Darko) would be an option with the 11.2, but now that MIke Miller has fallen into my lap, I have to take him.   Why is everyone hating on this guy?   He's a solid NBA player that's been stuck shooting for shitty teams going nowhere.   Watch. This guy's going to compete and that means a .750.

Oscar Robertson jumps on Hill.  Bastard!  This will ultimately end up leaving me rookie-less for the draft.

Some nice upside picks go in this round.

I take Eddy Curry with the 10th pick of the round, my last, and promtly pass out.

Round 12
1 Trinidad National All-Stars Jerryd Bayless | G | Portland
2 Trinidad National All-Stars DeMar DeRozan | G | Toronto
3 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys Ersan Ilyasova | F | Milwaukee
4 Provo Jomegamen Radoslav Nesterovic | C | Toronto
5 San Juan Supersonics Marcus Haislip | F | San Antonio
6 Grandview Buckeyes Brendan Haywood | C | Washington
7 FrenchLick Fingerbangers Jrue Holiday | G | Philadelphia
8 Cupey Chatas Kris Humphries | F | Dallas
9 Fort Myers Cyclones Tyson Chandler | C | Charlotte
10 FrenchLick Fingerbangers K JJ Hickson | F | Cleveland
11 Grandview Buckeyes K Chris Andersen | C | Denver
12 Oaksterdam Straightedges Shelden Williams | F | Boston
13 New York Schottsies Wayne Ellington | G | Minnesota
14 Fort Myers Cyclones K Nenad Krstic | C | Oklahoma City
15 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers K George Hill | G | San Antonio
16 Wick Eagles K Travis Outlaw | F | Portland

Round 13
1 New York Schottsies Ike Diogu | F | New Orleans
2 ZZ's Masters of War Robin Lopez | C | Phoenix
3 Trinidad National All-Stars Austin Daye | F | Detroit
4 San Juan Supersonics Courtney Lee | G | New Jersey
5 New York Schottsies Terrence Williams | G | New Jersey
6 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers DJ White | F | Oklahoma City
7 Fort Myers Cyclones K Ryan Anderson | F | Orlando
8 Wick Eagles K Anthony Morrow | G | Golden State
9 Trinidad National All-Stars K Kosta Koufos | C | Utah
10 Brooklyn Brewers K Luc Richard Mbah a Moute | F | Milwaukee
11 Grandview Buckeyes K Trevor Ariza | F | Houston
12 Provo Jomegamen K JaVale McGee | C | Washington
13 FrenchLick Fingerbangers Byron Mullens | C | Oklahoma City
14 Cupey Chatas K Will Bynum | G | Detroit
15 Oaksterdam Straightedges Eric Maynor | G | Utah
16 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys K Sergio Rodriguez | G | Sacramento

Round 14
1 New York Schottsies Toney Douglas | G | New York
2 Oaksterdam Straightedges DeMarre Carroll | F | Memphis
3 Cupey Chatas K Renaldo Balkman | F | Denver
4 FrenchLick Fingerbangers Jason Smith | F | Philadelphia
5 Valley Forge Howler Monkeys Goran Dragic | G | Phoenix
6 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers Joey Dorsey | F | Houston
7 Grandview Buckeyes Darrell Arthur | F | Memphis
8 San Juan Supersonics Tiago Splitter | F | Free Agent
9 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers Julian Wright | F | New Orleans
10 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers Alexis Ajinca | C | Charlotte
11 New York Schottsies K Jarrett Jack | G | Toronto
12 Grandview Buckeyes K Jose Juan Barea | G | Dallas
13 New York Schottsies Jeff Foster | C | Indiana
14 ZZ's Masters of War K Marcin Gortat | C | Orlando
15 New York Schottsies Danny Green | F | Cleveland
16 Oscar Robertson and the Crispus Attucks Tigers Jermaine Taylor | G | Houston

I rally as the draft is ending but see:

- a couple of nice pick-ups for Trinidad at the top of the 12th - Jerryd Bayless and Demar Derozan

- a good gamble by Schottsie with the 13.1 in Ike Diogu

- some deep sleepers in Robin Lopez and DJ White selected in the 13th by ZZRay and Ciwasko respectively.

- a grab bag of rookies picked up by the Schottsies throughout the last three rounds.

Still kind of surprised Darrell Arthur didn't get picked up until the 14th round.

And that was that.

Not that it's a big deal, but Flip Murry averaged .790 and .727 the last two years.  For Indiana and Atlanta (not, say D'Antoni).

Seems like a reasonable G4.
