Not sure if I missed this in the rulepages (probably), but I was wondering, outside of paying $5 extra to be part of the possible payout for being the best possible team, if you pay $29 or $39 to purchase a franchise in a regular league, is there any payout?  I couldn't see any in the rules for payouts for league winners...

I guess I'm mostly just curious what the motivation would be for someone to purchase a franchise in the KFBA for no payout (if there is indeed none) outside of being able to be part of this wonderful organization?

By the way - I wanted to commend the staff here for being so timely on all of the responses to all of the questions - very impressive.

Well, getting people who respond to your concerns as part of the package has some value.  An involved owner might easily spend 50 hours on a team.  Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

We aim to please...

As for the payins...  The season fee ($19, $29, $39) is based on a League's founding date...  Teams in leagues formed this season cost $39 per year...  Teams in leagues formed last season cost $29 per year...  Teams in leagues formed two seasons ago (our first on the web) cost $19 per year...  Since there are a finite number of cheaper Leagues, we hope these are "hot properties" and available teams are snatched up quickly in the offseason...

Going forward, we plan on lowering the Per Season fee for aging Leagues...  i.e. When your League has four seasons under its belt, it will cost much less for you to re-up...  (frequency and severity of price cuts TBD...)

As for the payouts...  We have a few special (expert & maven) Leagues that have prizes of varying types and size...  Also, owners in paying leagues are eligible to chip in an extra $5 on their per season fee to play towards the (guaranteed minimum $1000) Prize Pool...
