There were a lot of LeBron doubters before last night, and there probably still are quite a few. Everyone will be convinced soon enough... LeBron James had 25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals in 42 minutes. He shot 12-20 with three buzzer-beating heaves that missed. James had two turnovers, one on a bogus charge, and the other right through Boozer’s hands. Not that anyone needs to sugarcoat the legendary opening night stat line he produced, but anyone who didn’t see the game missed a whole lot more than the numbers. James is the best player on the Cavaliers (already), but he is not selfish about it. After a steal and a thunderous tomahawk dunk, he poked the ball out of Bibby’s hands and received another pass on the breakaway. Instead of going in for a second straight dunk, he waited and passed to a streaking Ricky Davis for an incredible reverse jam. What other NBA player would have given up a chance for a dunk on a breakaway they were responsible for? None. The Cavs hardly ran plays for LeBron all night. He could have been more aggressive and put up 30-35 easily within the offense, given the chance. LeBron even admitted that he could have been more aggressive after the game. The difference between Garnett, Bryant, McGrady and James in their debuts is more than just 6’8”, 240lbs. We won’t have to wait three years for the King to arrive – and no, it wasn’t just one game. It was the first game of a new NBA as we know it. -Schottsie

Going to break out some old posts as a tribute to LeBron given what he is on the brink of accomplishing.
