Darrick Martin knew exactly what he was doing when he launched a 25-foot jump shot with less than a second left on the clock on Wednesday night at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Heading into the game, the Raptors held the NBA record of 628 consecutive games with a three pointer and were in danger of losing that mark in Dallas, after shooting 0-for-5 from beyond the arc -- until Martin nailed his with 0.5 seconds left.
"Those that had been around me knew I was going to shoot that ball at the end of the game," said Martin "I'd overheard (someone mention the record), so I knew what was at stake. I acted like I wasn't going to shoot it and was able to fire it up."
