Followed by another blockbuster....
I think the first trade helped both teams, and the second sent more value to Chicago, although it may also help Hard Rain. One assumes their management believes it will.
Hard Rain gets more value for this year, bracing for a solid championship run, which may be worth cashing in some keepers. West and Parker definitely have upside in the second half.
Chicago kick starts its rebuilding, while adding a needed center and keeping enough talent to push for the #1 pick (especially if Nate Robinson is officially out of the doghouse). Hopefully we have two winners here.
Well, it appears that Hard Rain and Skye certainly did well for themselves this year: http://kfba.net/cs/forums/t/9110.aspx
Chicago is battling for the #7 pick . . . . .
Landry has been a disappointment since the trade to the Kings. Seems like too many minutes there. Hopefully they add another big man in the offseason and get his minutes back into the 25-30 range.
However, the Chicago Rattlers were doing much better after those trades (217 in the final week of the season), after acquiring a much needed center. Unfortunately, we ran into a major slump the first two rounds of the playoffs.
And the Rattlers are still excited about Collison (13), Thornton (13), Illyasova (11), Gibson (9), Landry (6), Hibbert (4), Ming (3), McGee (8) and Rubio (14). I think we'd do those trades again. I'm glad the trades worked out for Hard Rain and Skye.
Hindsight being 20-20, the Rain would not make that trade with the Rattlers again. Or maybe neither with the Eagles. But I was trying for the title, and now we'll be lucky to get a good draft pick, but like I say, it will not be Carmelo or Kobe.
