I see in the FAQ that 'smart draft' works for owners unable to attend their drafts to ensure that you don't end up with too many players at one position and not enough at another.
I have a draft going on tomorrow afternoon and probably don't make it. I have my rankings tweaked so I am confident I will still end up with everyone I want. However, if 'Smart Draft' kicks in and starts drafting based on perceived positional needs as opposed to my rankings, I could get screwed.
Does anyone know how 'smart draft' works? I mean, does it just make sure I have a minimum of 2 centers, 3 forwards, etc? If not, is there any was I could make sure its disabled?
Thanks

For Hamster style drafting, the Smart Draft option is near the center of the page - above your team's current roster... If you want it enabled, click yes... It defaults as no...
Smart Draft makes sure you fill your five starting positions first, then your three backups... Then it ensures no one position gets too heavy from there on out...

The problem with Smart draft is, best I can tell, that if you have say, CJ Miles and a couple such guard prospects as 12, 13th, and 14th round keepers, you won't draft a G until you already have at least 3 Fs and 2 Cs.

Alright thanks, if it defaults to no everything 'll be cool
I just didn't want to have CJ Miles listed in my rankings to be like a 14th rd pick, and then have him drafted in the 9th round because I already had 3 forwards but only two guards....actually I should have three guards drafted by the 9th rd, But I didn't want Jamaal Tinsley persay going in the 4th round either

Smart Draft is for Hamster Style Drafts only.
I think for Live Drafts there's a max per position (7 for Forward and Guard and 6 for Center?) that will keep your team from getting crazy unbalanced.
