Am I the only one that thinks its hysterical that whenever the going gets tough in Miami, Riley gets the f*ck out???

Talk about the the ultimate bandwagon coach.  0-7. Ouch! I'm tired of coaching.  Going to concentrate on GM duties, retire from the sidelines you know.  Wow looks like we can go deep in the playoffs? I'm in!  Championship?  Wallow in the glory of me!  This was my precious!  15 strong baby!  Regular 20 point drubbings? Shaq's down and out and out of shape?  Wade sinking from the weight of carrying the team?  Posey and Walker too fat?  Um... I got this hip problem see and I need to take a break now.  But I'll probably be back around May.  Maybe Shaq will have played himself into shape by then and with Wade gunning for playoff wins, you never know...15 strong baby!

Wonder what Stan Van's up to now a days?

I'm on board with you, bro.  When Miami won the championship, my first thought was, poor Stan Van Gundy.  Dude had to put up with every Tom, Dick, and Barkley saying Pat Riley was the only one who could have guided that mix of players to the championship.  But in reality, a healthy (and deferrential) Shaq had much more to do with the title than Riley did.  Now, when the going gets tough, he's stepping down.  But you can bet he'll be back if the Heat go on a springtime run.

From a South Florida Sun Sentinel blog...

Revelation:  Speaking on his weekly radio show on WQAM, coach Pat Riley said of his decision to leave the team to address knee and hip problems, "If we were 25-2, would I have done it?  Probably not."

Reality:  So much for the record not impacting the decision.  The translation is the mental anguish added to the physical pain.  This is not a man who tolerates losing.
