After evaluating offers from all contending teams this season, the Brewers have shipped star forward Dirk Nowitzki to the Howler Monkeys for F Ersan Ilyasova (10) and G Goran Dragic (12). The two keepers will immediately join the Brewers starting lineup. The combination of quality minutes now and future upside was a perfect fit for Brooklyn, and Dragic will shore up the weakness at guard that has plagued the Brewers for weeks.
Despite getting off to a strong start, Brooklyn has been unable to post a 200+ score in their past six games. Management is still hoping to make a strong showing in the anti-playoffs to earn a top draft pick for next year. Before dealing with Valley Forge, Brooklyn considered offers from other teams of Nicolas Batum (10), Drew Gooden (4), Yi Jianlian (9).
Congratulations to Leigh for grabbing a couple of solid prospects and to the Colonel for securing another superstar Howler Monkey. I'd much rather see Dirk in a Valley Forge jersey than playing for the evil Trinidad franchise!
Objectively speaking, you took the best offer, Leigh. Gooden (4) is not a keeper in any universe (though kudos to Schottsie for trying to shop him as one); Batum, France's answer to Dahntay Jones, has had a fluky couple games; and Yi is high ceiling, low floor. Ilyasova was my favorite of the colonel's keepers, and I was a little surprised to see that people preferred Jason Thompson and Hansborough. Dragic has been productive from day one, too. Those FWs of the Colonel's look pretty damn good. Should be an interesting post-season.
Big on Iliasova, don't believe in Dragic, happy evil Trinidad didn't land Dirk.
And note that he's only a 3rd forward on a team that already boasts Bosh and Melo...
